근데, C타입으로 컷팅한 것을 서로 붙인 상태 즉, 다시 원형이 된 상태에서 위 아래 방향으로 각각 N과 S 극이 형성되는지요.
분리가 곤란한 수도관 주위에 설치를 해볼까 해서 그렇습니다. 그리고 여러개를 수도관 주위에 설치했을 때 극성의 배열에 따라 서로 붙일 수도 있고 서로 떨어지게도 할 수 있는 것이지요?

How do ferrite cores work?

Many cables have small lumps of ferrite wrapped around them like donuts. What are they and what purpose do they serve?

dylans voice : Ive just realised how much impedance increases at high frequencies in inductors! From one ohm to tens of mega ohms! Is there a way to ballance say 2 coils with slightly different impedances so they Operate similarly at high freq without me having to change the wire length or gauge?
General Awareness : My computer is a hot bed of RFI and if I move my microphone within six inches of it you can hear the noise so I wonder if a ferrite would fix that? Bit odd considering it is using an XLR connector so the noise isn't supposed to come across like that.
H Higgins : Not audio equipment, but I worked a decade in QA for an electronics manufacturer here in the US. At our location were the design engineers for two different divisions of our company.
One group spent a lot of time designing boards and gear that RARELY failed their FCC/EMI tests the first time around. They were very complex mechanical hardware and Firmware monsters.
The other group built smaller desk and table top equipment. The "protocol" in this group was to design, build, and mechanically test as absolutely as fast as possible. Naturally, when it came to FCC testing they often fell flat for the first SEVERAL iterations. So many projects were "late" because of this it was embarrassing.
Due to the delays in reserving Test-house appointments, this made the process even more delayed.

The first group did use clamp-on ferrites, but sparingly. Instead EMI mitigation techniques were used throughout the design process, and almost all the clamp-on's were selected because there was no other solution.
The second group seemed to ignore EMI problems until the very end, and then liberally scattered them throughout their designs.
I actually preferred working on the smaller units, because after tear-down at the ends of the test, I could keep all the ferrites. I ended up with literally HUNDREDS of ferrites, to add to my "collection".

In case you're wondering, except for "golden samples", all of the test units were scrapped because they were physically worn out and could not be sold afterword. As test units were subjected to between 2x to 4x expected lifetime tests, they were neither visibly or mechanically "pretty" afterwards.
James 87 : My Polk Audio sat tuner uses one on the inside of the unit just before the 18awg two prong polarized plugs into the power supply so I guess in this case Polk audio things it does something for the unit. It's out of warranty so was thinking of installing a 14 awg wire with core on it.
